I big pat on the back for Arizona, not so much for their OB's!

Finally people are listening! Arizona has been the first to step up to the plate and try to do something to reduce the cesarean rate. The state health department has stopped (they think) OB's from doing unnecessary early inductions and cesareans (AHD) on mothers before 39 weeks when there is no medical indication. WONDERFUL! AHD I give you a big pat on the back, high five, thumbs up to you! I truly mean it and not in a snarky way either. But here is where you are going to show that your gonna walk the walk and not just talk the talk. Unless more is done OB's are already coming up with ways to get around this and nothing will change. There have been several reports (and growing) that the "some" OB's are now ALTERING MEDICAL RECORDS to reflect a different due date so that on paper it will not appear that a non medically necessary induction or c/s has taken place early. They are also finding "medical" reasons to do them early. AHD you need to find a way to nip this in the bud NOW! How many babies are going to continue to be put in danger not only that medical records are LEGAL DOCUMENTS! and there are rules about changing them! I am sure that everything going to EMR (electronic medical records) now makes it so much easier to change, alter and delete information on a whim.
